The Public Humanities Hub Okanagan Steering Committee met to consider the impact of the current COVID-19 situation on the upcoming conference, Human Matters, that is planned for this July.
“Due to the uncertainty of our current public health situation and the complex personal needs we are all navigating at the moment, we have concluded that the best way forward would be to reschedule the July conference to the summer of 2021.” Noted Brigitte Le Normand, Director f the Public Humanities Hub Okanagan.
By moving the conference to 2021, the planning time, including other contingency measures will be extended. The committee will wait on setting a new date for the conference until there is a clearer information regarding the trajectory of the COVID situation.
All participants from this year will again be invited you to confirm their participation in the rescheduled conference, and the committee will send out a second Call for Papers.
The recipients of the PHH Joint Fellowship and Impact Award will also have an extra year to complete their work in more propitious conditions than what they have now, and will be joined by a second batch of Joint Fellowship and Impact Award winners (for AY 2020-2021) in showcasing their work.
