Proposals must demonstrate at least one of the following forms of engagement: student or faculty participation; participation of non-UBC affiliated faculty or students; or external community engagement.

Value: up to $6,000

This grant is meant to support research-related workshops expected to benefit the broader public of scholars, students, and/or community members in humanities and social sciences fields at UBC Okanagan.

Value: up to $15,000
Deadline: November 1, 2021
Duration: 12 months (with option to extend for publication costs)

The objective of the Public Humanities Hub Impact Award (PHIA) is to stimulate humanities research that engages the public through five stipends of $3,000 each.

Application Deadline: December 15, 2021

The objective of the Public Humanities Hub Joint Fellowship (PHJF) is to allow a faculty member at UBC Okanagan to partner with a scholar from another institution to collaborate on a year-long humanities project with clear potential for impact in the Okanagan Valley (e.g. a summer institute, school resources or exhibition). PHJF from other institutions are expected to visit UBC Okanagan as part of their project

The PHJF aims to build capacity in the public humanities on this campus, improve the visibility of the humanities in the Okanagan, strengthen our reputation abroad, and lead to further collaborative research projects. Where appropriate, the PH Joint Fellowship program would be aligned with the Reichwald Visiting Scholar and other campus programs.
